Integration of Manufacturing Execution System and Simulation

چکیده
This paper presents a concept of development of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) by using simulations. MES is one of manufacturing systems that are used to bridge the data between the gap of the bottom layer (such as the shop floor control) and the enterprise system layer (such as Enterprise Resource Planning: ERP). The paper focuses on the functions of MES which link the levels of operations management and shop floor control, especially in continuous slab casting processes. In order to illustrate the roles and the advantages of simulations to MES, the dominant and problematic issues, which directly affect the system development, the system maintenance, and the shop floor control, are described. Recent researches in the field are presented. The paper provides possibility for improving performance and reducing the maintenance cost of MES via simulations. By incorporating the efficient output data exchange system of the simulations, the higher level of MES (such as production planning) is feasible.

متن کاملMonte Carlo Simulation to Compare Markovian and Neural Network Models for Reliability Assessment in Multiple AGV Manufacturing System
We compare two approaches for a Markovian model in flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs) using Monte Carlo simulation. The model which is a development of Fazlollahtabar and Saidi-Mehrabad (2013), considers two features of automated flexible manufacturing systems equipped with automated guided vehicle (AGV) namely, the reliability of machines and the reliability of AGVs in a multiple AGV jobsho...
متن کاملDetermination of optimum of production rate of network failure prone manufacturing systems with perishable items using discrete event simulation and Taguchi design of experiment
This paper, considers Network Failure Manufacturing System (NFPMS) and production control policy of unreliable multi-machines, multi-products with perishable items. The production control policy is based on the Hedging Point Policy (HPP). The important point in the simulation of this system is assumed that the customers who receive perishable item are placed in priority queue of the customers w...
